Girls like Superheroes too!
“We need something for the girls” – as an uncle of 2 very active and adventurous nieces that frequently beat me up, I always find that comment a bit strange! The difference between boys and girls when they’re five is pretty much just what we tell them. Once, at a party I did as Spider-Man, a princess entertainer was booked too. The parents thought the girls would stay on one side of the room with the princess and the boys on the other side with me. What happened? Within 2 minutes all the kids were playing together as the girls wanted to join in on the action.
Why Girls Like Superheroes
At our parties I’ve found that the girls often enjoy the superhero activities even more than the boys. Perhaps this is because they aren’t usually encouraged to play tug of war or hit a punch pad. I imagine they’re usually told to make fairy wishes and have tea parties. Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with those activities and of course many kids will love them. However it’s not the only option for girls – it certainly wouldn’t go down well with my nieces!
Our Heroines
For your girl’s party you may prefer a female superhero entertainer. Fortunately Hero Hosts has a range of them – Wonder Woman, Spider-Gwen aka ‘Ghost’, Elsa and the Little Mermaid…Yes I know those last two aren’t usually thought of as superheroes but demand for them is very high and they do have powers! Perhaps I should rename them ‘Ice Woman’ and ‘Aqua Girl’ before Disney sues me anyway.
Customise Your Girls Birthday Party
All our activities are adaptable. If you fear your child is a little too timid to hit a punch pad and send a superhero flying in to a wall then that doesn’t have to happen…but it always can! We have a range of ‘superhero training’ games to choose from, all of which can be dialed up or down in their intensity.
Spider-Gwen aka ‘Ghost’
Spider-Gwen is an excellent superhero character that came out of the Spider-Verse in recent years. She out performs Spider-Man in most ways and her theme music is one of my favourite tunes. She is often booked as a superhero entertainer alongside Spider-Man but sadly it’s not as common for her to get solo bookings. Superhero entertainers go down a storm with all kids, so I’ll say it again – girls like superheroes too!
